Hi, I°m Adam,
I°m not sorry that we decided to go ahead with the screening. In this day and age, children need every chance they can get so why shouldn°t we pick the best and most intelligent embryo we can? Our society is completely geared up to passing exams and being clever-so we should do everything we can to help our children achieve this. We°ve got to pick one embryo anyway- I just want to make sure the odds are stacked in our favour. I am sorry that I didn°t tell Martin about the screening process for homosexuality but I just wanted to make sure that our child didn°t suffer the prejudice and abuse I suffered when I was young. I think that a lot of things are easier when you are straight-when I told my mum I was gay it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I felt so mean. I just didn°t want our child to have to struggle the way Martin and I have.
