Sources of HelpThe Mental Health Foundation (MHF) Also: MHF Scotland The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) is the only charity in the UK concerned with all aspects of mental health, including mental illness and learning disabilities (mental handicap), and as such plays a vital role in pioneering new approaches to prevention treatment and care. Work includes providing easily accessible information for the general public, funding research and community projects and promoting the development of good services. It is dependent on voluntary donations. MIND (National Association for Mental Health) Mind is a leading mental health charity in England and Wales. It works for a better life for people diagnosed, labelled and treated as mentally ill through campaigning, community development, training and provision of information. Young Minds Aims to increase public awareness of mental health needs of young people, young people and their families and promotes provision of mental health services for them. Anti-Bullying Campaign Parents or young people can write or phone for support and advice on steps to take. Childline Young people can telephone 24-hour helpline for free to talk in confidence to a counsellor on issues ranging from abuse and bullying to relationship difficulties. NSPCC Child Protection Helpline (0800 800 500) Kidscape Teaches young people about personal safety, including dealing with bullying and approaches by known adults and strangers who may try to abuse them, with the help of teachers, parents, police and other concerned adults. A counsellor for parents is available. Parentline Parentline volunteers work in groups to offer helpline services. They
aim to listen, offer support and may suggest other appropriate services.
