'You Only Love Me When I
Cry' by the Bedlam Runners. |
Mickey Mitch, the lead singer from successful rock group The Bedlam
Runners has disappeared. He walked out on the final night of the Runners
UK tour just minutes before going on stage and has not been seen since.
Mitch is no stranger to controversy: he has only recently come through
six weeks of rehab and last week photographs of him appeared in the
national press, in which his chest was covered with self-inflicted
cuts.
This interview, with rock journalist Ross Macmanus, was to promote
the Runners new album "Cracked", which is currently taking
the charts by storm. Having already enjoyed phenomonal success with
such
hits as "You only love me when I cry", the Runners were due
to start their American tour next week. With the disappearance of
Mickey
Mitch, however, the tour now looks to be in jeopardy.

The Bedlam Runners are known for their hard-edged sound and melancholy
lyrics. Mitch himself is rumoured to have suffered a recent nervous
breakdown. He is thought to be prone to depression and has stated that
the "loneliness, despair and thoughts of suicide" that pervade
his lyrics echo his own life. So, although the Bedlam Runners seemed
to have cracked it in the music world, has Mickey Mitch "cracked
up"?
