I am a writer and on behalf of the Kensington and Islington Arts Trust, I am currently writing a play addressing the topic of cloning for this year's Culture Shock Culture festival. However, I am finding it increasingly difficult to complete the play. I now understand all the complex processes involved in cloning but find it hard to accept that it is right to use human embryos for stem cell therapy. Although it is not common knowledge, I have Multiple Sclerosis. Despite the fact that the use of these embryos might one day help treat my condition, I just can't believe that it is right to take away new lives in oredr to take away some of the pain on the grey days.
